About Us
PRESIDENT’S WELCOME MESSAGE:

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Cristo Rey High School, the best kept secret in Sacramento!

Cristo Rey Sacramento is embarking on its eighth year of educating young people of limited financial means to become men and women of faith, purpose and service.  We prepare our students to succeed in college and beyond, equipped with the values and skills essential for a fulfilling life.

In the past year, a record number of young people expressed interest – over 400 inquiries - in attending Cristo Rey.  We are proud to welcome over 100 freshmen for the 2013/14 school year.

We are ‘The School that Works’.  All students work five days a month in businesses throughout the Sacramento region gaining real-world job experience.  By the time our students graduate they will have worked over 1200 hours in a professional environment.  Students work with supervisors and mentors who demonstrate the importance of a college education and strong work ethic. One universal quality of our Cristo Rey students and graduates is the sense of gratitude for these extraordinary opportunities.

We are educating our students for success. Our rigorous college preparatory curriculum and dedicated faculty and staff ensure that every one of our students is prepared to enter and graduate from college - that is our goal.  97% of our four graduating classes were accepted for admission to universities and colleges, many with generous scholarships and grants.

Everything we undertake at Cristo Rey is made possible through the love of God as manifested by our partners in our mission of educating the under servedThe people who make up a Cristo Rey school are numerous:  students, parents, alumni, faculty, work-study partners, volunteers and benefactors.  It is through the generosity of you, our partner in this great mission that a Cristo Rey education in Sacramento remains strong and vibrant, an instrument for God’s work and a beacon of hope for the future of us all.

We invite you to come experience Cristo Rey and prepare to be inspired!

Sincerely,

Sister Eileen Enright, RSM
