After graduating from Saint Mary’s College of California, I worked in customer relations, operations management and sales for several years before returning to school to get my Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Sac State. After graduation, I joined the CRHSS team in 2007 as Executive Assistant to the President. I then moved to the Work-Study department, where I worked as Program Associate, Program Manager, and since December 2016 as Work-Study Program Director. My focus in the program has been to strengthen sponsor relations, expand student professional development training, and create process improvements focused on supporting long-term growth of the student population. A graduate of the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce’s Catalyst Leadership Program in 2010, I’m committed to the growth and development of the Sacramento community. I’m thrilled to be a part of the CRHSS team and work with our sponsors to help our students learn and grow!

I attended Saint Mary’s College in California for my undergraduate degree. As a native to Sacramento, I returned home to give back to my community and work in education. I can happily say, this is my third year at Cristo Rey. I serve as one of the Work-Study Program Coordinators and am an Advisor of the Peer Mentoring Program. Mentoring and working with our students has been a learning and rewarding experience for me. I plan to continue my own journey of education this fall by pursuing a Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Sacramento State University.  My vision is to become a Director of an inclusive Student Support Center in higher education institutions so that I can continue to support and mentor Cristo Rey students and others who are also first generation students, minorities, and low-income.

My name is Gustavo Moran Padilla and I joined the Work-Study program in March of 2017 as the Work-Study Transportation Program Coordinator. I previously worked in the Enrollment Department at Cristo Rey assisting with recruitment of students. I attend Sacramento City Community College and I will be transferring to CSUS to complete my education and receive my degree in Sociology. I am an alumni of Cristo Rey High School and graduated in the year 2011. In the future I will obtain my teaching credential and help students be proficient in their student development. I am very grateful for the opportunity to be part of the Cristo Rey community and I hope than I am able to inspire students to be successful by showing them that with the right work ethic and education, they can also achieve their goals.
