President's Message

Cristo Rey High School Sacramento...The School That Works!

As we enter the new school year, we are filled with hope, joy and gratitude. Collectively our community has endured a lot as result of the Nation’s response to COVID-19. At Cristo Rey, our students, faculty, staff, work study sponsors and donors met this challenge with grace and resilience. We are grateful to have returned to our beautiful campus for in-person learning, and we are grateful for the many Work Study partners who continue to welcome our students into their offices for the critical learning that comes through meaningful work.

Our Mission is focused on transformation through education. We are walking side by side with the future leaders of our community. Our curriculum is focused on developing the spiritual, ethical and academic strengths of every student we are called to serve and we encourage our students to persist, to show resilience, even when things get tough. This past year is evidence that our methods are working. More than 97% of the Class of 2021 had at least one college admission, and more than 70% will enroll in a four-year college this Fall. These are tremendous results, and are the result of the partnership that is formed at Cristo Rey between student, family, faculty, staff, work study sponsors and our donors. Collectively we assisted in this achievement. Thank you!

If you are just learning about Cristo Rey Sacramento, welcome. The best way to fully understand the Cristo Rey Mission is to see it in action. I encourage you to contact me and schedule a visit. One of the highlights of my role as President is to welcome guests and introduce them to our students and our faculty and staff and show why Cristo Rey Sacramento is truly The School That Works.

Viva Cristo Rey!
